Hello everyone!!
I’m here today to share Marianne’s Ask The Expert Article on the new Equal Pay Act! As everyone, the new law has gone into effect on October 9th, 2017 in which employer is prohibited from asking applicant’s salary history during the screening/interviewing process.
Q: How is the equal pay act going to affect my hiring? And our bottomline?
A: Most urgently, the Act prohibits businesses from screening applicants based on salary history or seeking an applicant’s salary history. To prepare for this change, businesses should not request salary history in job posting language, or request that this information be provided on applications or as part of applicant screening.
