The holiday season is upon us….
Ann Berg of Action Employment Inc., here!
This is a very exciting time of year where many things happen. You might be going to a holiday work party, stringing garlands and lights upon a tree, lighting candles on a menorah, or reconsidering some new year personal or work related goals to embark on! So, here are some tips you might consider.
Work holiday parties: We all love going to them. Dressing up, snacking on some tasty Hors d’oeuveres, visiting with co-workers, and spreading some holiday cheer. You might even partake in some alcoholic beverages while at one. Keep in mind, even though you are “off the clock” and at a party, you and your guests still represent your working self. It is best to keep your alcoholic consumption if you partake on this, to a minimum so you can represent your best self. You might also want to keep in mind your wardrobe. You can wear something which you do not normally wear to work, but remember to keep conservative dress in mind. Remember, everyone is brought together to have a fun time, so relax and have a good time while you are at the party also! 🙂
Another tip I would like to share is about making personal or work related goals. Remember to keep within reason of what you are capable of, so you are not setting yourself up for failure. Personal goals are a great stepping stone for imagining work related goals if you feel stuck on what to go for. Maybe you did not feel like you exercised enough last year? Try for some more the new year! Another good place to start for work related goals is breaking your records. So you handled 5 new major accounts in 2016? Break your record! Try for 8 in 2017!
I hope these tips will help you along the way! This is a fun and exciting time of year! 😎
Good luck! Until next time,
-Ann Berg
